I have been in the building trade since I was a boy, following in my father's and brothers' footsteps. Now a third generation of my family, my own son, has joined the homebuilding and remodeling business.

I give each project my personal attention. I am creative and enjoy working with homeowners to create a design that is personal and unique. Client relationships and communication are paramount to me. I work with the homeowner in the design process, then serve as the general contractor to ensure the clients' vision is translated properly to the sub-contractors.

I am hard working, honest, competitive and positive. I'm very active in my faith, family, and career. When you choose David Bauer Custom Homes, you work with David Bauer. My name is on every house and my passion and commitment to quality are evident in every project.

Dave really excels is putting out “fires’. He is a master at solving problems! When a problem did arise, Dave professionally handled each one. His calm demeanor and abundant knowledge of all of the building trades allows him to evaluate each problem and quickly devise a solution. His problem solving skills ‘saved the day’ countless times. Dave also took care of the administrative duties such as paying the subcontractors, setting up draws with the bank, handling all of the building inspections and working with the affidavit company, just to list a few. After each draw, he sent us a copy of the accounting reports so that we could follow the project costs as they were paid. We contacted Dave regarding an addition. Dave discussed many options with us and we finally decided on adding a master bedroom with a bath and walk-in closet on the back of our house. This has been a new and learning experience for me. We encountered a few things that needed to be changed and we also requqested some additional work to be done thinking since we were doing this it would be good to go ahead and do that. I believe Dave has been very good about working with us through these changes and also trying to keep the cost at a minimum. I have called Dave with numerous questions and he has always been polite about answering my questions. I would recommend Dave and his crews; they have been working hard to complete the work contracted and the additional requests.

David has been the general contractor on our 741 sq ft addition. We added a master bedroom with master bath (tub and separate shower) with a large office, a utility room (washer and dryer) a linen closet, and a large walk-in closet. Dave passes all his contractor discounts on to the home owners and keeps in contact daily by email. They are going to be finished at least two months earlier than the contract calls for.

This process has been a smooth one and Dave has been a blessing. First of all, when he came over to meet with my husband to find out exactly what we were looking to do, he came FULL of great ideas. My husband was thoroughly impressed. You could tell that Dave knew his stuff! He offered ideas that we had not even thought of. We actually had 2 other contractors come over to offer bids on the job; however, none were as eager or willing to take on the project as Dave was. He is easy to get in touch with and remains in contact along the way. Dave has assured us that we are "the captains" of this project and he means it. We have provided our own electrician which has saved us a significant amount of money. He is open to any suggestions we have. He is a great guy to work with. I hope you give him a try.

My husband and I are both designers, so it took us a while to find a contractor that we trusted with our home. We both have an eye for detail and finishing touches, and wanted to make sure we found a builder who shared that same sense of detail. Dave and his team did an AMAZING JOB! They were such a pleasure to work with, and the end result is beautiful. It even exceeded our high expectations.

Shortly after our kitchen remodel, we hired Dave to finish our basement. It included a living space with wet bar, slate fireplace, and built in bookshelves, as well as a bedroom and bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and glass shower. The work, again, was stellar and the team always a pleasure. I work from home, so it was also important to me that the crew be pleasant...which they always were. We were even somewhat sad to see their company go when the job was done.
